About Susan

Long before Crafted Draft Studios, I was already paying attention to what moved people.

I led nonprofit groups, built fundraising efforts, and helped reluctant volunteers find a reason to participate. I also learned how to shape the energy of a room through music, both on air and in live event spaces.

I have spent years in customer-facing work, from sales and service to creating calm, welcoming massage experiences in busy office environments. That taught me that experience is rarely one big moment. It is built through small choices that help people feel understood, comfortable, and ready to engage.

That is the foundation of Experience Archaeology. I look for the stories, patterns, and small moments that reveal how people are really experiencing a business or idea, then help shape what comes next.

Today, I bring that same attention into consulting work with founders and small businesses, helping them see what people are actually responding to, where the experience is breaking down, and where to go from there.

I am also a writer, speaker, facilitator, and someone slowly drafting a novel. The setting changes, but the instinct stays the same. Pay attention to what is already there, uncover what matters, and help it take form.

Start with the rough draft.
